If you want to make sure that you are going to be able put as much as you can into your storage space without it becoming so cluttered to be the point you can't find anything when you need it, you will want to check out the following points. After reviewing these points, you should have a much easier time keeping your storage unit as organized as possible.

Keep Things Off To The Side

It is important to allow yourself enough space to be able to walk all of the way into the unit or storage room. This way, you can move boxes, totes, furniture, and bags around as needed. You will also be able to keep better track of where everything is. For example, you might want to place all household goods along one wall. On the other wall, you can stack up all of the boxes or containers that hold tools or gardening supplies. Against the third wall, you can stack furniture or appliances. Of course, you do not want to have anything blocking the entrance into the unit, as you will need plenty of space to move things in and out of the storage unit.

Use Big Bold Labels That Won't Fade

A lot of people will use labels, but many tend to use really small labels. The smaller labels might work fine when you are removing things from the unit and you need to decide where they go. However, using much larger labels will allow you to not only do that, but to see what is what while things are still in storage. You also need to take it a step further when using labels. Do not just use an ink pen or a marker, write on a label, and then slap it on the box or a bin. Over time, your writing may fade and this will make it hard for you to see what everything is. To prevent that from happening, simply completely cover the label with clear packing tape. This will stop the ink from fading from exposure to the elements and you will be able to easily read your writing for a long time to come.

By simply using those two storage space organization tips, as well as any others that you come across, you will be able to easily organize your storage unit, no matter how big or how small it is.
